Ephesians 6:24KJV

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity

An insincere love is a one-sided love, a love self-centered and self-driven. It’s a love without purity and genuineness. It is important that we Christians examine our lives to see if our love for Jesus is sincere.

When your relationship with Jesus is all centered on what you stand to gain, there is a big problem.

Oh! Serve Jesus and you will be blessed. If you do the work of God, He will prosper you. Be focused on God’s work so that He blesses the work of your hands. These are the common communications of most Christians. These kinds of mindset and mind attitude are very wrong.

If you are not going to prosper, will you still be doing His work? If the works of your hands are not going to be blessed, will you be committed to His course?

Do you love Jesus for Jesus?

There are Christians who are so carnal; the content of their prayers is nothing to write home about. It is all about what they want to get from God. How many times do you kneel to pray for the salvation of souls? How many times do you bow to pray for others? How many times do you travail in prayers, so that God’s righteousness will be established in the lives and hearts of others?

Watch that insincere person, he starts murmuring, grumbling and complaining when the secular things of this world are not going his way. He may not even be attending church or evangelize.

For such folks there are conditions to be fulfilled if they will be committed to God’s plan and mission. The condition is that the things of this temporal life should be going their way. These kinds of Christians don’t really love Jesus; it’s really about what they seek to gain from the Lord.

In all these, He will still bless you, not that He is pleased with such behaviors.

Even though Paul was so committed and preached the Gospel of the Lord Jesus, He didn’t prosper materially nor benefit financially yet he was so in love with Jesus. This is the attitude, the true measure of a one who genuinely loves Jesus.

“For though I preach the Gospel, I have nothing to glory about, for necessity is laid upon me. Yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the Gospel…1 Corinthians 9:16KJV”

“As sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things…2 Corinthians 6:10KJV”

This is Paul the Apostle for you. If as a Christian, your primary reason for serving Jesus is about the things of this soon passing world, then you are very miserable.

How many people were living on this planet just two years ago but are no more since the emergence of the COVID pandemic? Do you think we do what we do because of this world? Do you think Paul, Peter and John lived the way they did because of this world? When you were born, growing up, there were many adults you knew and saw, where are they now? They are no more. Don’t waste your time, energy and resources on that which really don’t matter. Have your eternity in mind. There are many Christians who have died and gone and when in this  world, lived for the things of this carnal world and wish they could come back to make things right. He says,

“And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every man according as his work shall be…. Revelation 22:12KJV”

 God bless you!
