By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1 Timothy 6:3-4KJV If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings The Great Apostle Paul warned Christians to shun proud preachers and teachers. Who are proud teachers? These are folks that convey their own minds and messages to the church. They compromise on God’s standards just to please themselves and the flock. They are self-willed and destitute of the truth. They teach and affirm what they really don’t understand. They teach opinions and not the mind of God. When God says one thing, they will preach the contrary. They direct and lead, not based on God’s instructions but their own. Paul says, shun such people, withdraw yourself from them. If you are in a Church where leaders have such dispositions and tendencies, you better leave for your own good. You don’t follow people who don’t respect God and His Word. For instance, When the Bible charges that Christians sinning are to be rebuked, such teachers say that it doesn’t matter because of Grace but Paul says, “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear…1 Timothy 5:20KJV” They play down on the importance of faith when the Bible says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him…..Hebrews 11:6KJV” They play down on faith when Jesus constantly rebuked His disciples for their lack of faith. On one occasion, God when He was in flesh said to His disciples “And He said unto them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?”….Mark 4:40KJV” Such teachers teach their own minds to the congregants. They present a Gospel of financial gain as godliness. We now have Christians who have been made to think that God is pleased with their lives because they have prospered financially but Paul says that such messages are false doctrines We have preachers and teachers in the western world and some parts of Africa conveying such messages to the Church. Such doctrines are not of God but inspired of devils. There was a Church in the book of Revelation who had been made to believe in such a false assumption and this is what Jesus had to say to them “Because thou sayest, “I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing,” and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable, and poor and blind and naked,…..Revelation 3:17KJV” The Christian should be careful in these last days. The Holy Spirit warned the Church that these things would happen to swerve many from the faith, from the holy walk in Christ. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils…. 1 Timothy 4:1KJV” Therefore be careful whom you follow in these end times. Jesus said, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch….Matthew 15:14KJV” God bless you! Confession I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah! I am born again
