By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang John 6:54KJV Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. One time, Jesus preached a sermon which beggars belief. It was so hard for the carnal Jews to understand. It was a tough sermon. It’s like sometimes when the Lord leads us to say certain things which makes no sense to carnally minded people. The Master said to them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you……….John 6:53KJV” The Jews in their response retorted, “ This is a hard saying, who can bear it?”. As carnally minded people, they were looking at things from the natural plane of life. So in their mind, they might have reason; does He think we are carnibals? There are also other denominations who have a doctrine of translation, they believe that when one eats the bread of the communion, it translates to the very flesh of Jesus. This is also not true. All these are carnal explanations and interpretation of the Word of God. The secret to them understanding what the Lord was communicating is in what He said after. He said to them, “It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life……….John 6:63KJV” All along He has been telling them, my flesh and blood are the real deal. These will give you life. If you want real life and not one, which perishes, eat my flesh. He was not talking about bread baked in a furnace but His Word. His Word is real life, He is the real food. The Word of God is the real food; you eat Jesus flesh by taking into you His Word. John says, “The Word became flesh”. You eat His flesh by eating His Word. His Word is the real food for the human spirit. There are Christians who are always busy and laboring just so they can have much money to provide food for their family yet spends little time on the real food, the Word of God. This is not wise. Jesus said, “Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed…………John 6:27KJV” The Word will provide you with the necessary spiritual energy and strength to confront life. Be eating the flesh of Jesus! .God bless you!
