Matthew 6:33 KJV

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When Jesus said “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”, He was not talking to the Christian but to the Jew. He was talking to Israel after the flesh and it is very important you understand that as a Christian. You have to understand the continual graduation of the Ministry of Jesus on earth.

Jesus was sent to present the Kingdom to Israel, which they rejected as a nation.

One time Jesus said,

“I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel…..Matthew 15:24 NIV”. He said this to the gentile woman who wanted her daughter healed.

There are Christians who have been taught to be seeking the Kingdom, this is not fully accurate. There are certain Scriptures in the New Testament  epistles which if not properly understood in context will lead to such an understanding.

You have to understand that there is the physical and material aspect of the Kingdom and then the spiritual.

The Christian is not the one to be seeking the kingdom; you are already part of the Kingdom in the now of your life.

Israel was promised the Kingdom but the Christian has inherited the Kingdom. Christianity actually is living out the Kingdom life on earth. You are a royalty.

This is what Peter meant when he said,

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy….1 Peter 2:9-10NIV”

What Peter just said had been promised to Israel but for you the Christian, it is a reality in the now of your life

“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites……Exodus 19:5-6NIV”

They couldn’t obey and therefore never became but you have become all that in Jesus.

Observe again what Peter said, “But you are………” No if’s and but’s

You are not Kingdom seekers, the Christians are the people of the Kingdom”.

This is why you cannot be thinking about life even in the same way that Solomon and the others did.

This is why Paul could make certain blunt statements to the Christian, statements which some cannot receive until they have been brought to a certain spiritual understanding.

It’s important you see yourself the same way God sees you, now that you are a Christian.

You belong to God’s political party and all that should drive your life and goals are to be the mission and ethics of the Kingdom.

You are not the Kingdom seeker; you are people of the Kingdom

God bless you!
