By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1 John 1:1KJV That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life Jesus was not a divine apparition, He was not a current manifestation of any form. He wasn’t like the ghost they see in movies. Jesus isnt a myth. No! It is not like the Greeks talking about their olympian gods. Such is not Jesus. When we talk about Jesus, it is about a real God who became flesh. He was real, a real human. The God who became flesh. So Paul says, “And beyond controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory…….1 Timothy 3:16KJV” Yes! Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. There are some denominations who don’t believe in the deity of Jesus. This is gross ignorance. You can’t be a Christian and not believe in the deity of Jesus. Jesus had conflicts with the Jewish leaders regarding this, this was what the Pharisees were not willing to accept which led Jesus to His death. He was charged for making Himself God but He is God. When we talk about Jesus, we are not dealing with Caesar or the imperial cult. We are talking about the one who is the great God and savior. Oh! I like Paul’s description of Jesus. He says, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ……..Titus 2:13KJV” Paul nailed it in this verse, he concluded the case. Not only is Jesus the savior, He is also the Great God. Paul never said, “a great God”. No! A thousand times. He called Jesus, “The Great God”. Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. One day very soon, He will be returning to this earth. Your presence in this world as a Christian is not to build mansions, get PhD or be a doctor. The primary purpose of the church, from the first century up till now has been to prepare the world for the soon return of the King. Two thousand years for the preparation of the soon return of this King. This should tell you how big He is. When Jesus shows up, the whole creation will announce His very presence, even the plants. John says, We saw Him; we felt Him and we touched Him. He isn’t a myth. The Gospel like Peter alluded is not a fable; it is about a real God, a real King. All hail King Jesus! God bless you!
