By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Ecclesiastes 10:16KJV Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! It matters who your spiritual leader is, it matters who gives you spiritual direction in life. Jesus said, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch………Matthew 15:14KJV” He doesn’t expect you to follow a blind leader, you will not be excused if your leader was blind. Therefore, be careful who you follow. A blind leader can not get you to the mark. He will not be able to help you fulfil the God given divine destiny. A man can only give what he has and like the Bible says, “But without any dispute the less is blessed of the better….Hebrews 7:7ASV” There are people who run God’s church as their own personal enterprise, they do things the way they like, putting square pegs in round holes. The Kingdom work of God is a serious business, with protocols and spiritual principles. You don’t put people in leadership positions because you like them or because they are your friends. God gives instructions and qualities that ought to be met. Paul’s instruction to the church in selecting a bishop was that “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;……1 Timothy 3:2KJV” You go to certain churches where a person is handling a subject that he has no clue about and is just forcing himself to present his case. This kind of spiritual indiscipline is what has brought many wrong doctrines into the body of Christ. Paul talked about such folks. He said, “Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm…….1 Timothy 1:7KJV” There is nothing new in the church, the Apostles faced the same crop of characters, people who won’t humble themselves to be trained but go about teaching their opinions. Don’t follow such individuals. The church is not and shouldn’t be a place of opinions but the ground and pillar of truth. “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth…….1 Timothy 3:15KJV” Be careful who leads you, be careful who you follow. Wisdom says, “The labor of a fool so wearies him [because he is ignorant] that he does not even know how to go to a city……Ecclesiastes 10:15KJV” One can labor foolishly in the house of God when he does things his own way, it is not going to profit him anything. The Bible says, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain…….Psalm 127:1KJV” It is never God’s intention for the spiritually immature to lead His people. He says, “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths……Isaiah 3:12KJV”. Therefore, be careful who you follow.
