Matthew 5:14KJV

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid

 

Jesus said the same thing about you the Christian as He did of Himself. Talking about Himself, this was what He had to say

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness……….John 12:46KJV”

Jesus referred to Himself as a light come into the world, a world of darkness. In the same vein, He calls you the light of the world.

Till a man finds Jesus, he is in darkness. He may be a president, doctor, lawyer, judge, a PhD holder, it doesn’t matter. If he doesn’t have Jesus, he is in darkness and gross darkness it is.

Your call as a Christian is an honorable call. You have been called as a light to your world. There can be darkness in a room but when light shows up, the darkness automatically leaves. When you read the Bible, you find out that there are places that Jesus went where demons immediately started crying out at the presence of the Master without even Him speaking. Why? When light shows up, darkness knows that it ought to go. Light drives darkness away.

This is why it becomes unreasonable for Christians to fear witches, demons and devils. You are a spiritual light, they are spiritual darkness. They should be afraid of you and not you.

As a Christian, you have been made the righteousness of God and called to establish His righteousness wherever you find yourself. You have been called to eradicate sin for sin is anything that falls below the righteous standards of God

Jesus came as the righteousness of God, establishing God’s righteousness in every place, matter and situation. This is what it means to be the light of the world.

You have been called to dispel darkness and give meaning to people’s life. Light is that which makes manifest, it describes. And this is what you have become. You show the world the hidden secrets and wisdom of life. Things they can never know or learn in any university. This is how privileged you are. You are honorable.

Know who you are and take charge. You are to dictate the pace. You have become the answer to the world’s problem. This is what it means to be the light of the world.

Even in this COVID-19 period because of the ignorance of some men of God, Christians had to lose their lives. They were not taught properly. The Church had been praying for the world to find vaccines and solutions for them. They were not taught to understand that as the light of the world, they rather were the answer to the problem. All they needed to believe was

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover…. Mark 16:17-18KJV”

Take charge!

Confession
