By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Hebrews 12:6KJV Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright The Bible says that Esau was profane. He was profane and so he lost his birthright. What does that mean? Esau didn’t value spiritual things, he never valued his inheritance so he lost it and Christians are admonished not to be the same. There are some Christians who don’t value spiritual things, they have no problem spending hours on things of the natural but see time spent on that which pertains to the spiritual as a waste of time. It can even be these daily devotions. There are some who can even be offended because they are sent to them. Such are the ones God calls profane, they have no value for spiritual things. They don’t value the Gospel and all that pertains to it. Such people are not going to see the favor of God working in their lives . They are profane. They value and have time for the things of this world which they are going to enjoy for some seventy, eighty years or even less but don’t value things which will determine and shape their eternity. They see other Christians as fanatics and over zealous. These Christians are the ones Jesus referred to as lukewarm. They will go to church and once a while read their Bible. This is all there is about their Christianity. Don’t be like such Christians, be different. Sometimes, when very challenging problems come to them and all help fails then they will turn to Jesus and start taking spiritual things very seriously. For some, it becomes too late Like Esau, even after all the tears the grace will not work on their behalf. This is because they mocked wisdom and were profane. They didn’t take what cost God, the precious blood of His son as serious. This was a mock of the blood of Jesus. They thought it was the preacher or that other Christian they were disrespecting but never understood that any servant of God who comes with the Word of God represents Jesus. Don’t be profane, take spiritual things seriously The Bible says, “Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;…….Proverbs1:20-26KJV” .God bless you!
