Devotion (The Trumpeter):
Don't break the hedge

Ecclesiastes 10:8 KJV

 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him

Peter says,

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:…..1 Peter 5:8KJV”

satan has to seek to find those he can devour, not everyone qualifies for his destruction.

This is why they were to be attentive, cautious, and vigilant. Some Christians are not cautious, they act anyhow. They forget that life is spiritual. This is why calamities suddenly overtake some of them. Don’t joke with your spirituality.

For God, He has made available to the Christian the entire spiritual ammunition needed to put the devil in his place. The devil is an enemy but a defeated one but you the Christian has to put him in check.

He says,

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you….James 4:7KJV”

It’s your responsibility to resist the devil, not God. Again, he says

“Neither give place to the devil…..Ephesians 4:27KJV”

It’s your responsibility not to give place to the devil, not God

In Christianity, Christ has become your hegde of protection. Technically speaking, you break that hedge of protection by moving out of the Christ location. This is doing things which are inconsistent with the Christ life that you have received.

The hedge of protection is real, it is there in the realm of the spirit.

satan needed Job’s spiritual hedge of protection to be broken before he could attack Job

“Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not Thou made a hedge about him and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance hath increased in the land……Job 1:9-10KJV”

John says,

“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not…..1 John 5:18KJV”

Grace doesn’t mean satan cant touch a Christian if he abides in sin.

And sin is not what we say it is but what God says. Many Christians think sin is limited to fornication, adultery, stealing, lust and the others. No! Sin also includes fear, unbelief and doubt. You have to understand what really sin is

Paul says,

“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not from faith; for whatsoever is not from faith is sin…Romans 14:23KJV”

Whatsoever is not from faith is sin. Are fear, unbelief and doubt from faith?

When we stress on faith, there are those who think we are making noise. You are a man dealing with God, you have to understand things from His angle not yours.

Don’t break the hedge!
