By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Luke 13:11KJV And, behold, there was a woman, which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. Paul said, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned……1 Corinthians 2:14KJV” Spiritual things are foolishness to the man or woman who prides him or herself in natural knowledge. He prides himself in the knowledge and skills that he has acquired in the university. Such is the sense ruled man or woman. Luke recounts a story where Jesus met a woman that had been bowed all over for eighteen good years. This woman was bent double and couldn’t lift up herself. She couldn’t straighten up. Think about it. The woman had been like this for eighteen good years. This is some years to be in such a predicament. The prognosis or expected outcome may not have looked good. The physicians in Israel may have had their own opinions or assumptions about her illness. Take her to the hospital and they may have diagnosed it to be arthritis of the vertebrae and they may be right as far as the natural is concerned. This is all what the physician can do for you, he or she can only diagnose the natural but life is more than the natural. Life is spiritual and many times the problems men face go beyond the natural When Wisdom came walking in Israel, He had a different diagnosis. He called it a spirit of infirmity. Literally, Jesus said that the woman was suffering from a spirit of sickness. Thus, her sickness was spiritual, caused by a spirit or demon. satan was behind her problem and this woman has been in it for eighteen good years. Say this to the carnal or natural man, he may laugh you to scorn Now, the longevity of her problem didn’t also mean it was God’s will for her to be in it. Talk to the religious folks and they will tell you that it is God’s will. Many times, when they say it is God’s will, what they are really saying is “we don’t have the answers” Who would have thought that just words of faith could free this woman of such a predicament that she had suffered for eighteen long years. When Jesus met the woman, he didn’t conjure anything. He just spoke words. Jesus could discern into the spiritual, something that nobody had been able to do hitherto. He knew that this woman had been a prisoner of satan all these while. Observe how Jesus ministered to the woman “And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity….Luke 13:12KJV” How simple? Don’t be proud to ignore the spiritual because many times all you may need are for Words of faith to be spoken over the situation. When the ruler of the synagogue confronted Jesus on why He had cured the woman on a Sabbath day, this is what the Master said, “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?…Luke 13:16KJV” Life is spiritual; you ignore this to your own peril God bless you! Confession I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah! I am born again
