Faith doesn't move God

John 3:16KJV

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

Though the message of faith is very important, it is equally imperative that it is taught accurately. Sometimes the wrong statements that some preachers and Christians make have led to a difficulty in Christians appreciating the importance of faith. Why is faith always necessary? If this God is so loving, why should I always have faith? Must there be faith? These become the unsound thoughts of some Christians and rightly so.

Why blame them when there has been a wrong communication on the subject of faith?

One of such statements which though untrue but has been voiced so strongly in many parts of the Church is that “Faith moves God”. They tell them, faith is what is going to move God to do that thing for you.

Faith doesn’t move God, faith pleases God and there is a difference. When they say that faith moves God, it sounds nice but untrue. Well, it depends on what you mean by faith moving God but if it is to say that faith is that which will move God to do something for you then it is not true.

Faith doesn’t move God, love does. The Bible says,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

The World was ungodly, unfaithful and in sin yet His great love moved Him to send Jesus.

Again Paul says,

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us………Romans 5:8KJV”

Jesus didn’t die for the sinner when he was in faith. No! His great love moved him to do what was necessary. Faith is not that which moves God, love does.

Why then is faith so important? Yes! Faith is very important because even though God loves you so much and has provided all that you will ever need, without faith you are not going to access any.

This is because faith is a spiritual law; it is that spiritual law that connects heaven to earth.

God loving you so much has nothing to do with you needing the law of gravity to walk on earth. As a matter of fact, His love for man led him into creating such a law to enable you to walk on the ground. In the same vein, God dwelling in the spirit realm and man living in a physical ecosystem, He had to create a spiritual law that will enable man to access heaven resources, that law is faith.

When you get this important understanding, you will see faith for what it really is, that like gravity, faith too is a blessing. You will understand why it is needed and you will work on your faith. You will understand why man cannot please God without faith. This is because without faith, you cannot get the will of His love done in your life or the lives of others.

This lack of understanding has made faith a work for many Christians. Faith is not a work or labor, it’s a rest. It is a blessing.
