God doesn't hate the world

John 3:16KJV

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

 

When the Bible says, for God so loved the world, He means the world of men and not of things. God doesn’t hate the world but wants them saved

John said,

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved….John 3:17KJV”

This is what we have to understand as Christians, God is not now condemning anyone. The world was already in condemnation due to its sins and God offered an opportunity, a way for their salvation. You don’t save someone from nothing, people need salvation only when there is a problem.

So men needed to be saved because they were already in condemnation. They just worsen their case by rejecting Jesus

There are some who think, Yes! Jesus is for men but God the Father is against the world. He hates the world because of their sins. No! that is not true. God the Father loves the world.

Paul says,

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation….2 Corinthians 5:19KJV”

It was God the Father who was in Christ doing all what Jesus came to do. The whole plan of salvation is His idea and desire. God is for the world, not against. satan has deceived the world into thinking that God is against them.

So Paul said to Timotheus

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth…. 1 Timothy 2:3-4KJV”

God’s desire is the salvation of all men, including that very wicked man in your vicinity. Yes! He is a gay, very terrible but God wants him saved

Why today’s message? So to have the right image about the world to be an effective soul winner. When Christians don’t have the right mindset concerning issues, their prayers won’t have the right content. There are preachers and Christians who because of the evils of the world, pray against them. Such is not wisdom. We have been sent for their salvation and not their destruction. It’s important the church all over understand the timelines in God’s calendar. We are currently in the acceptable year, the day for men’s salvation. We are still there though it will close in a few years to come. Therefore, this is not the time to be against the world. We are for them and we are supposed to pray and intercede for them, for their salvation.

Pray for the salvation of that evil brother in the family, the sodomite or homosexual in the city. Pray for the salvation of the world!

Confession
