Devotion (The trumpeter):
God wants all to come to full age

Colossians 1:28NIV

 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ

When God sends us to preach and teach, it is so to bring all His Children to full maturity in Christ. Christian maturity is not for only the clergy but every Christian. God wants all His Children to come to full maturity in Christ, on earth and not in heaven. This is the sole purpose for ministry in the Church. Any Church which doesn’t have this vision as their target and do all to achieve this target  are a contradiction to God’s own vision.

The primary purpose for being in Church is not for singing and worship nor social relations. Though all these have their place. You go to church so to be fully grown.

Paul says,

“We preach Christ, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone(not some) fully mature in Christ”.

It is for this reason and purpose that Jesus gave the fivefold ministry gifts.

Paul again says,

“And [His gifts to the church were varied and] He Himself appointed some as apostles [special messengers, representatives], some as prophets [who speak a new message from God to the people], some as evangelists [who spread the good news of salvation], and some as pastors and teachers [to shepherd and guide and instruct],[and He did this] to fully equip and perfect the saints (God’s people) for works of service, to build up the body of Christ [the church];  until we all reach oneness in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, [growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity]……Ephesians 4:11-13AMP”

Jesus gave ministers as gifts to the church; your minister is Jesus’s gift to you, to bring you into full maturity. See them as such.

When any Minister is not focused on this but is just interested in making money from you, he or she ought not be followed.

God is very much displeased when an individual has been a Christian for many years without any proper growth.

In Hebrews, the Holy Ghost said through His servant

“For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths], you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning], and you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food…. Hebrews 5:12AMP”

They ought to have been teachers by that time but were still babes. Many don’t know that God puts a clock on every Christian and knows where every Christian should have reached based on how many years he or she has been in church and the kind of messages that have come to him or her.

This is how God deals with His children.

Therefore, Strive to grow! Strive to mature!

Confession
