Romans 12:2NIV

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

There is a popular saying that goes, “if it is God’s will, it will come to pass”. This has become the understanding that many have when it comes to the sovereignty of God but the truth of the matter is that God’s will for your life may not come to pass, you have a role to play.

If God’s will always comes to pass, there shouldn’t be any judgement day. There shouldn’t be a day of reckoning.

It was Jesus’s and as such God’s will for Peter to walk on water yet in the very presence of Jesus, he began to drown. Jesus in that encounter made a statement that reinforces what was expected of Peter, if God’s desire for him to walk on water will come to pass.

Jesus said to Peter

“………………. You of little faith, “why did you doubt?……Matthew 14:31NIV”

As long as God was concerned, if His will for Peter regarding the walking on water will come to pass, he Peter has to meet God on the other end with his faith.

Again, even though it is God’s desire and will for all men to be saved, this desire will not come to pass.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance………2 Peter 3:9 KJV”

God wants all to be saved and come to repentance but it is not happening and as a matter of fact, it won’t happen.

Does this in any way suggest a limited power or authority on God’s end? A thousand times No!  Not at all. There is no limit to God’s power and authority.

God in His sovereignty before He created man decided to give man a free will and by taking that decision, it meant that God will always need the right response from men if His will for their lives relating to any case or issue will come to pass.

There are certain crops of Christians and preachers who have branded everything as the will of God. If someone dies, it is the will of God. If a Christian is involved in an accident, it is the will of God. If a Christian woman gets raped and becomes pregnant, it was the will of God. Everything happening in the lives of good Christians is the will of God. They reason that for such a calamity to befall this good Christian, it sure must be the will of God. When Peter was drowning, he wasn’t a bad person yet he was drowning in front of God in flesh and it wasn’t the will of God.

Preachers with such teachings are leading Christians to their destruction.

As a Christian, you have to understand that you have a role to play if God’s perfect will will be done in your life. It’s not all up to God like many assume

Paul says,

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”

You can’t live like the world, think like the world and expect God’s will to be done in your life.

.God bless you!
