By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang The Master was speaking to the Jews, was not distant from them but close yet said to them “Ye are not able to hear my words”. Why did He say that? These Jews were blinded by their hatred for Jesus, they were uninterested in what the Lord had to say. He was communicating great wisdom yet they will not assess Him based on His words One time He said, “The world cannot hate you, but Me it hateth, because I testify of it that the works thereof are evil…..John 7:7KJV” They hated Jesus hence were uninterested in anything that He had to say. Personal hatred, dislike and bitterness can rob people of a lot of great things. There are Christians like that, they are uninterested just because those words are coming from a particular preacher, person or denomination. They don’t have ears to hear and will not measure what is said by the Word of God. Others are blinded by their church traditions and will not even assess what others are saying by the word of God. If you are like that this will rob you of a lot of wisdom and knowledge. It doesn’t bite to listen and make your decision based on the Word of God. Jesus didn’t say that truth is based on church traditions or experiences, truth is not the sole possession of a group or denomination. Truth is what the Word of God says. You have to be like the Berean Christians, they measured what they heard by the Word of God “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so…….Acts 17:10-11KJV” The Berean Jews were more noble When you say I don’t agree, you don’t agree based on what the Word of God is saying or because of what a denomination is saying? It has to be, I don’t agree because the Word of God says something different and not because we catholics, pentecostals, methodists, anglicans etc believe differently. Jesus is not going to judge you based on what any church, preacher or denomination taught, He is going to judge based on what He said in His Word. Have ears to hear! Jesus said, “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear…….. Mark 4:23KJV” God bless you!
