Now that you are a Christian, nothing should defeat or overcome you. This is because the Christian has been given the privilege and honor to live in the name of Jesus. The Christian is not supposed to live in his name but that of Jesus. It matters the name you live by. Shouting the name of Jesus doesn’t necessarily mean you live in the name of Jesus. It’s about how you respond to situations in life Why was Paul not moved when bitten by a snake? It was because he was much more conscious of his divine life in Christ than humanity. You can be shouting Jesus, Jesus when still conscious of your humanity and that wont change anything. “And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god….. Acts 28:3-6KJV” This evil didn’t befall Paul because he had done anything bad. What mattered was his response and consciousness. Like Paul, you don’t start panicking in fear and crying when evil comes your way, you ought to respond in faith. Anything that can’t overcome Jesus shouldn’t overcome the Christian; this is what it means to live in the name of Jesus. Jesus didn’t say that because you are a Christian, deadly things wont get to your body. The venom of the viper got into Paul’s body but it didn’t matter because we are immune to deadly things. To be a Christian means to be immune to deadly agents. This is who you are, the new life in you has made you immune to harmful agents. This same Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome and said, “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you…….Romans 8:11AMP” The Holy Spirit is not in us only to give life to our spirits and soul but the body. This is why the Christian shouldn’t be sick. It is because of the Holy Spirit giving life to our bodies that made Jesus say, “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” Since you are living in His name, sickness ought to be a thing of the past God bless you!
