Mark 10:21KJV

 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

 

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

.Wisdom says that money is a defence. Money is important because it is a legal tender. You need it to exchange goods and services. Money is an amplifier of character, put it in the hands of a good person and it will do more good. It will do great evil when found in the hands of the wicked. When someone is proud and arrogant, it just gets multiplied when he becomes rich. This is all what money is.

Tomorrow, if the governments of this world agree to make bananas  the new legal tender, you better go to that banana farmer. This is because the papers and the cash will mean nothing, the one with the most bananas becomes the richest. Don’t be a slave of the systems of men

The Bible shows us a time in the very soon future where having money will mean nothing but a mark or chip will become the legal tender of the day. This is why you are told not to trust in money because the same way Covid came to change things, financial systems can also change abruptly

“ And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads, that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name…..Revelations 13:16KJV”

 

There are certain Christians who just live for money, all what drives them in life is building a legacy on money. Such is not wisdom. Some of such people find out that they lived an empty life only after their death

There is more to life than money, far more. Don’t be deceived. This is why Jesus warned the Christian about the deceitfulness of riches. Don’t let money deceive you into thinking that you are an achiever, read what Jesus said to the Laodician Christians.

“Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need]…Revelations 3:17AMP”

This was not said to unbelievers but to Christians. Don’t be deceived. Don’t let the money grubber sort of pastors deceive you. There is more to life than money.

Jesus met a man who was so rich but says to him,

“Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me……Mark 10:21KJV”

He could say that to him because there is more to life than money. Don’t be poor but go after things that really matter
