By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Matthew 5:44KJV But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you, When Jesus says, “Love your enemies”. It means that love is a decision. You choose to love. There may be different types and kinds of relationships but love is a choice. Love is a decision that you make. When you become a Christian, you are brought into “Truth”, you are brought into Wisdom. Christ has been made your wisdom, the darkness is over. There are many singles who may meet a man and admire him for probably the looks, intelligence, personality, sense of humor, wisdom, education, height, stature or status in society. They become all emotional about a love they have gotten for him. It’s the same for some men, in their encounter with women. This is a lack of understanding, the reason for most divorces even in Christian marriages Love has emotions but emotions can also be borne out of admiration and desires, it doesn’t make it love. Love is a choice. It’s a decision you make There is nothing wrong with desires. It is in the right of every man or woman to have desires as long as it is in accordance with the way of righteousness but that should not be misconstrued for love. The lack of this wisdom has led to many broken homes. A man marries a woman and after comes back talking of how he has lost his love for her just because she doesn’t have the same looks and appearance as before. What will you do, when there is an accident leading to a malformation of a spouse? Are you going to divorce her? What will you do when the money is not there like before, are you going to cheat on him? No! Love is a choice. It’s a decision. God never said, “ marry the one you love”. He says, “Love the one you marry”. You are obligated to sincerely love the one you marry. There may be nothing desirable about an enemy yet God instructs you to love them. Why? It’s because “love is a choice, a decision” As a Christian, that divine unconditional love of God has been shed forth largely in your heart hence you have the enablement to love anyone. Make that decision to love anyone you come in contact with. Someone shouldn’t be a friend before you can love him or her. Choose to love, for love is the greatest God bless you! Confession I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward.
