1 Samuel 17:46KJV

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

Through out history, a lot of legendary stories have been written about David and Goliath, the champion of Gath. No matter how different these stories may have been recounted, there is a central theme and that is “David killed Goliath with five smooth stones” but that is where they got it wrong.

David didn’t defeat Goliath with stones; he defeated him with words, words of faith.

Anything including stones can be weaponize by words of faith. The following words of faith were what weaponized the stones.

He said,

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel”

But faith should be based on what God has said for the Bible says,

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…. Romans 10:17KJV”

You have to understand that God didn’t come to David to instruct him to go and fight Goliath. Neither did He send a prophetic word through Samuel the Prophet.

David just happened to be a spectator of the war, which was going on between Israel and the Philistines because his father had sent him with food to the brothers who were at the warfront. So where came the faith?

Words are weaponized by faith. David was acquainted with all the promises that God had given to Israel as a nation. As long as Israel on the national level doesn’t sin against Jehovah, they were not supposed to be defeated by their enemies. David was conscious of this; he was a covenant man and had knowledge of the covenant promises. This mindset is revealed in his communication. For instance, the bible says

And David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done to the man who killeth this Philistine and taketh away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?……1 Samuel 17:26KJV”

He said, this Goliath has no covenant with Jehovah so how dare him. The word of promise that God had spoken to Israel was the basis of his faith that weaponize the stones.

As a Christian, you need words for battle, the Word of God is a two edged sword with which you reign over circumstances.

God bless you!

Confession

I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah!  I am born again
