By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1 Corinthians 7:19KJV Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. When the Bible talks about the commandments of God, He is talking about His orders. What we have been ordered to do. They are not suggestions, neither opinions. These are instructions and obligations; you are obligated to do them. A dispensation of grace doesn’t imply the absence of commandments. It doesn’t imply the absence of orders. Mercy and Grace don’t mean radical liberalism. Paul, an Apostle of the Grace Gospel in the introductory verse is talking to believers at Corinth and admonishes them on the importance of keeping the commandments of God, His orders. You became a Christian by confessing the Lordship of Jesus over your life but Lords give orders, orders to be carried out. No matter how long and wide you shout the praises of God, if you don’t obey His orders, it means nothing to Him. He says “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?….Luke 6:46KJV” You cannot be calling Him Lord whilst committing adultery, no you cant whilst in fornication. You cannot be calling Him Lord whilst cohabiting. The Lord gives the orders, He tells us what to do. You don’t mock God, for what a man doeth so shall he reap. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting….Galatians 6:7-8KJV” Don’t let extremist grace teachers deceive you. You ought to obey His orders. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another….John 13:34KJV”,a commandment different in type, nature and quality You have been ordered to love your fellow brother and sister in the same way that Jesus loves you, laying down His life for you. You have been ordered, it isn’t a suggestion. There are false and ignorant teachers who mislead Christians into thinking that because they have become Sons of God by grace, there aren’t orders anymore. Such is ignorance gone on rampage. Even in the New Jerusalem where grace would have come to its fullest, we will still be serving the Lord Jesus, the great potentate. “ And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads….. Revelation 22:3-4KJV” Grace doesn’t mean orders are cancelled! God bless you!
