By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang

Romans 13:8CEB

Don’t be in debt to anyone, except for the obligation to love each other. Whoever loves another person has fulfilled the Law.

Love is a debt you owe every man, especially your fellow brethren. It is not an opinion, neither is it a suggestion. God is not suggesting to us to sincerely love every other Christian. The contract of the New covenant has made love a debt, a debt we owe every other Christian

When you owe someone or the bank money, you know that it is a responsibility to pay it up; the same applies to loving your fellow brother. The only difference is that this is a debt you can never finish paying.

The same way not paying your monetary debts come with consequences; failure to pay your debt of love can be dire

When the saints at the Church in Corinth were not paying their debt of love, it came with dire consequences, they were dying prematurely and many were in sickness.

That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason why many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep [in death]. But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior], we would not be judged…1 Corinthians 11:30-31AMP”

This was written to Christians and not unbelievers. Grace doesn’t mean license to live anyhow.

There are rules in Christianity. There is what is called the Law of Christ. The Law of Christ is the law of love. Love is the law in Christianity and breaking it can be consequential. Be careful how you treat your fellow brother or sister. Be careful what you say about them. Don’t treat or talk evil of any other Christian. You should and can correct without talking evil

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ….Galatians 6:2KJV”

Love is the law in Christianity; it is a debt you owe. Always live with that consciousness.

  God bless you!
