By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1Peter 2:1KJV Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, He says, lay aside these things. Put them off! The Christian is to put off malice, guile, hypocrisies, evil talking and envies. You have to put your flesh in check so not to allow these things in your heart. Mount guard and police your heart against these. They suppress your soul development and advancement in life. They become a gravitational pull in the realm of the spirit, pulling you on a downward spiral. No advancement in your spiritual growth. Spiritual growth is not a measure of how much you know but how what you know has molded your character, attitude and response in life Put off malice! What is malice? It is ill will, the desire to injure. This should not be part of your life, now that you are a Christian. Take away being guile, don’t live by trickery and deceit. Don’t be crafty in an evil way. Such is not befitting for the Christian life. Deceit is of the devil. He admonishes us not to be like the Pharisee, a hypocrite. Don’t present what you are really not. Pretense is evil. Don’t present a life different from the true motive and state of your heart. You can’t hide that from God. God is not like man. Man goes by outward disposition, countenance and seducing speeches but God weighs motive, He looks at and observes man’s heart. Work on yourself through the Holy Ghost to get rid of such things if they are in your life. Paul says, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?……2 Corinthians 13:5KJV” Examine yourself, is your life reflecting the Christ in you? What is evil speaking? Rebuke and correct people according to the Word. Paul told his son Titus “This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;….Titus 1:13KJV” Rebuke but don’t be an evil speaker. Don’t defame, slander and backbite. Don’t act and talk out of hatred and envy. Such are devilish wisdom He says, “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,” Put them off! God bless you!
