By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Romans 6:13 KJV Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. There are different kinds of tools and instruments and each has its purpose and function. There is the hammer, pliers, calipers, the jigsaw, sickle and others. We always use the instrument for the right purpose, the correct function. When a tool is used for the wrong purpose, it breaks down. God also made a tool and this tool is the body of man. Yes, your body is a tool but also an instrument. The body was not created, it was made and fashioned from something already created. It’s very important you understand what was just said that your body was not created but rather made from something already created. The Bible says that God formed the body of Adam from the clay that He has already created “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being……Genesis 2:7KJV” Man needeth not a body to exist therefore the body was made for a purpose. The body was a tool made to exact righteousness. You have to see your body as an instrument whose purpose is to exact righteousness. Therefore, you never use your body for any other things than righteousness. It applies to every member of that body including your mouth, tongue, eyes, hands etc. For instance when Paul said, “Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats,” but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body……1 Corinthians 6:13KJV” He means your body is not an instrument for fornication. To use it for fornication is to use it for the wrong purpose. It was not designed for that purpose hence it will break down. For instance, this is how wisdom describes a man or woman in adultery “But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul……Proverbs 6:32KJV” There are even some educated folks who take their spouses as fools when cheating on them but don’t realise that they are the fools. He went to school just to become a fool. Wisdom is not found in the classroom, it comes from God. He mocks another when it is himself that he is destroying. Use that instrument of the body for the right purpose, for righteousness. This is why you have to live the way God tells you. The body is for the Lord and the Lord for the body. If you give the body to the Lord, the Lord will be for the body God bless you!
