By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang

1Peter 4:17-18KJV

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Today’s devotional sounds ironical, the Christians are supposed to be the saved ones. Why then say that the Christians shall hardly and scarcely be saved?

Yes, the Christians are supposed to be the saved ones but it is dependent on them working out that salvation. It is dependent on them living that life.

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose…..Philippians 2:12-13NIV”

The Christian who will not live that life of holiness granted him in Christ Jesus but will abide in sin if he doesn’t repent, he or she will be cut off. The righteous shall scarcely be saved. There are Christians who have been deceived by charlatans and ignorant preachers, into thinking that grace means no matter how they live, they are going to make it.

Its not so, don’t be deceived. You don’t abide in adultery, fornication, lasciviousness and all manner of evils and expect to make it if you will not repent. It is wiser to listen to an Apostle who walked with Jesus, saw Jesus and heard Jesus. It is wiser to listen to the one, to him Jesus said,

“………………Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it….Matthew 16:17-18KJV”

This is the Peter that says,

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear”

God is not a God of unrighteousness but of holiness.

It is because the Christians will be scarcely saved that Jesus came to warn the seven churches in Asia Minor. Grace doesn’t mean adultery, fornication, sodomy, uncleanliness and all other forms of moral decadence are accepted in the Church.

This is not the meaning of grace. Like Paul said, till “Grace” teaches you to shun unrighteousness, you have not fully understood the Gospel of Grace

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;…..Titus 2:11-12KJV”

The grace that brings salvation will teach us to deny all forms of ungodliness and worldly lust. This is what grace is about

Grace doesn’t mean license to abide in sins. Paul knew the importance of this so he said to Titus, these things ought to be spoken boldly, rebuking the disobedient

Christians with all authority.

“These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee…….Titus 2:15KJV”

Whether you are despised or not, it ought to be spoken. Such is true Christianity Child of God, the time is too short. These are days and times to be vigilant, abiding in the way of truth and righteousness.

God bless you!

Confession

I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah! I am born again
