The lawful captive is one who has been captured on legal grounds, he is in bondage on legal grounds. satan knows those who are his captives on legal grounds and those who arent. The voice of God asks, Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? Shall the lawful captive be set free? Yes, the lawful captive can be delivered. Only God can deliver the lawful captive “But thus saith the Lord: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children……….Isaiah 49:25KJV” When people are lawful captives, you need a prayer of intercession. Now, the Christian is not a legal captive of satan. When the Christian is in bondage, he is in bondage because of ignorance. satan deceives Christians to put them in bondage but they are not supposed to be legal captives of the devil “For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty]…..Colossians 1:13-14KJV” When a Christian appears to be a legal captive, it means he is walking in the flesh He is not supposed to be but he is serving the law of sin in his flesh. This is why he appears to be . When you know that you are not a legal captive of satan, you can put him where he belongs. satan has no legal right on you, always remember that. he will lie to you but stand solid in the faith God bless you!
