By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1Timothy 4:15KJV Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all I am a Christian, I study the Word of God and believe Him to be true but I don’t see changes in my life. I see people giving testimonies of how the Word of God has been transforming their lives. Some recount of how they divinely got their healing when attacked with sickness but for me if not for drugs, I may have died. Others talk of their spiritual and physical prosperity, why is my case different? Sometimes, I am made to think that God is selective when it comes to Christians yet the Bible says that God is no respecter persons Why is Word not working? This appears to be the state of many Christians The truth really is that the question shouldn’t be “ Why is the Word not working?” This is because the Word will always work, rather the question should be “what am I not doing right? As a Christian, you have to come to a place in your life where you believe in the integrity of God’s Word. Therefore, if something is not going right, it can’t be the fault of the Word but you. God’s Word is a seed, an incorruptible seed “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever….1 Peter 1:23KJV” When an incorruptible seed is not producing, the problem can never be the seed but the ground. So the problem is the ground of your heart. Some Christians have wrong assumptions about spiritual things. The spirit realm is a real world with governing laws and principles, you cannot do things anyhow and just expect a change because you called on God. It’s like telling God, I want to see in the natural but I don’t need physical eyes. When Jesus wanted a man born without eyeballs to see, He had to give him a pair of eyes. If we are going to see, we will need our eyes. We can’t substitute the eyes for the ears or any other for that function. In the same vein, when it comes to spiritual things, God tells us the different purposes for different spiritual activities. We cannot substitute any for another. When it comes to the Word of God transforming our lives in any area, God reveals to us the spiritual tool. It is called meditation. It was the same for the Jew, the same for the Christian. This is because it is a spiritual law and principle “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success…..Joshua 1:8KJV” Like what Paul said to Timothy, if the Word of God was going to profit and benefit Joshua, he had no choice but to meditate . How much? Occasionally? No! Day and night. There had to be consistent meditation. There are Christians who want the power of God’s Word working in their lives but are lazy with spiritual activities. They have time to watch movies, chat on whatsapp and go about the things of this life yet they have no time for meditation but want to be protected from diseases and to advance in life. You are joking. It is not about crying to God, it’s about doing what He says. God didn’t say that studying His Word is what brings changes in your life but meditation. Studying has its role, it will bring you to accurate truth but for that truth to transform your life, you got to take that truth and meditate “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth….2 Timothy 2:15KJV” You study to come to the truth. Studying doesn’t bring transformation What does it mean to meditate? It means to study, imagine, mutter(speak to yourself) and roar the Word of God. All these together is meditation Take some time each day to meditate on God’s Word God bless you!
