The purpose for the abundance

2 Corinthians 8:14KJV

But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

When God blesses the Christian with abundance, His intention is not for a luxurious living. The Bible says

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth….Ephesians 4:28KJV”

Considering the flow of the verse, one would have expected Paul to say

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to provide for himself” but no the Holy Ghost through His servant put emphasis on “having to supply for the need of others”

It is evil and wrong for a Christian or a Minister to have abundance when other members of the church are in lack. The purpose of your abundance is to provide for their needs.

When God tells you that you will give an account of how you used your money on the last day, He wants you to understand that everything you have came from Him and ought to be used for what He God intended. You don’t use it how you want.

God calls for equality in the Church. By equality He doesn’t mean or suggest that all the Christians will have an exact amount of material wealth but implies that a Christian shouldn’t have abundance whilst a brethren is in lack.

Christianity is a brotherhood, we have become members of one another and hence responsible for one another. Christianity is a covenant of love; there are consequences for anyone who breaks it. It is important we understand this as Christians

God doesn’t see you like He did Solomon or David. Solomon or David was not in a covenant of love like you are. There is a difference and this is why you have to be careful in how you apply certain passages in the Bible to yourself. There are certain preachers and Christians who erroneously support their luxurious way of living on certain passages in the Bible.

It’s important the Christian is accurately taught about the Christian life.

It’s evil and wrong to have abundance when another member of the body (church) is lacking. We have become members of one another by virtue of the love covenant so when one member suffers we all suffer.

And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it…….1 Corinthians 12:26KJV”

It’s a covenant of love. Oh! The depths of the wisdom of God, who could have thought of such a masterstroke? God’s wisdom is amazing.

In Christianity, the evil you do to your brother or sister will find you out, either in this world or at judgment.

Don’t take it lightly how you treat another Christian.

It is wrong for church members to hunger and lack when Pastor has fleet of cars and planes. It is evil

The early Judean church had an understanding of this mystery. This is not surprising because their Shepherds were the Apostles who had walked with Jesus.

So the Bible says,

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need……Acts 2:43-45KJV”

“And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,…..Acts 4:33-34KJV”

Paul says,

As it is written: “He that had gathered much had nothing left over, and he that had gathered little had no lack…..2 Corinthians 8:15KJV”

The selfish won’t understand this. The one who is wordily and self-centered cant heed to this. The one who seeks his or her own glory wont mind this.

It pays to understand Christianity.

God bless you!

Confession

I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah!  I am born again
