The repulsive mind

Romans 8:6KJV
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Who is a carnal Christian? He is that Christian with a carnal mind. God loves him but hates his mind. His reasoning and mindset are opposed to the ways and plans of God. His affections and sentiments are centered on things of the flesh; the mind is subject to the senses. He is a Christian but reasons and thinks like the world, his goals for life are the same like the world. His mind has been educated and trained by the world.
This is why Jesus was so pleasing to the Father, His mindset was different and was opposed to the world’s way of thinking. The Word of God and the word of God alone shaped His thought pattern. He saw things from heaven’s standpoint; He was an intrusion into the sense realm.
This is why the Lord was hated; it was because He was unique and different. He lived just to fulfil God’s will, what was principal in His life was the Kingdom of God. Do you live to fulfil God’s will and plan or is it about your own plan and vision in life? If you are living for your own plans and visions, you are failing. Who is the carnal Christian? I will tell you! He is that Christian who has his own goals as principal in his life but the things of God are just an additional venture . You will even sometimes find him engaging in the things of God but to him, they are just something to do when you have time. He is unwise and has not understood the reason for his life and existence. He hasn’t understood that he exists for God and not that God exists for him.
Oneday, your life on earth will come to an end and when the time comes, God is not going to ask you about the degrees you attained, He is not going to ask you about the houses you built nor the enterprises. You are going to give an account on how much your life on earth benefited His Kingdom

This is why Paul the Apostle was so full of joy when he knew that his time was near. He wrote to Timothy and said,
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing…..2 Timothy 4:7-8KJV”
What good fight are you fighting? Is yours about wealth accumulation and education? You have become like the Gentiles but Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you…..Matthew 6:33KJV”

Is the Kingdom first in your life? Your thoughts and actions will show.
What is first and most important in your life? Money or Jesus? Your actions will show.
The carnal mind has his affections centred on earthly things hence he is sensual but John says
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever……..1 John 2:15-17NIV”

The world and its desires will pass away therefore set your mind on things which are eternal, that which abides forever.
