1 Corinthians 1:2KJV

To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours

If you are reading the devotional for today and you are a Christian then please understand that you are a set part one. To be a Christian is to be born into Christ. Christ has become your new location and that sets you apart from the world. This is the meaning of sanctification. It is a set apartness. You are distinguished from the world and this is how you ought to see yourself. The Word of God sets you apart.

You are consecrated to God and belong to Him now.

This sanctification sets you from sin and the dominion of darkness. They have no authority over you now.

Paul says,

But because of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption,….1 Corinthians 1:30KJV”

Christ Jesus has been made unto you sanctification, Christ is your set apartness. You have been set apart from the pollution, sins, damnation and the curse hovering over this world. You activate that by seeing yourself that way.

If many preachers understood this, they wont be crying over COVID. Christ Jesus sets you apart from COVID

You cannot be walking in sins and behaving like the rest of the world as a set apart one.

When the Corinthian saints were walking in sins, this is what Paul had to say to them

For ye are yet carnal. For if there is among you envying and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal and walk as men?…..1 Corinthians 3:3 KJV”

Paul said to them, why are you being carnal and behaving like the world? Don’t you know that you are a set apart one? Don’t you understand your sanctification?

It pays for the Christian to understand his identity as a set apart one.

Always live with that consciousness, wherever you may find yourself.

God bless you!
