They are no more two but one

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined
together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:6NIV

The cause of indiscipline in Christian marriages is the lack of wisdom. It is because some call themselves Christians but choose to live by the wisdom of the world. It is a shame for the christian to live by the wisdom of men. Many say that in marriage, one plus one is equal to one. This is not true, God never said that marriage is “one plus one is equal to one”. One plus one will always be two. Marriage is “one in one
is equal to one”, it is “one in one” and not “one plus one”. It is very important that married couples and singles who want to marry listen to the words of Jesus. Marriage is not about the man and woman, many have made it about themselves and this is why there is selfishness and selfcentredness.

Marriage is that of the natural which God created and instituted to point to that which is eternal, Christ and His church. In marriage, the husband is the lord, he is the lord of the union. This doesn’t mean that the woman shouldn’t be honored and respected but it has to be understood that the husband is the lord. It is a lordship in love.

“Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement…….1 Peter 3:6KJV”

Since he is the Lord, he drives the vision for the union and not the woman. He too is mandated to make sure that the vision is in line with the way of Christ

“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God…….1 Corinthians 11:3KJV”

Daughters of God, if you want to be independent, with your own vision and interest then you have to remain single or should have remained single and not marry.
It’s important you understand that the man was not made for the woman but the woman for the man. This is why the wife is expected to submit to the husband in all things, as long as it is in the way of righteousness.
“For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man…………1 Corinthians 11:8-9KJV”

“But as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives should be subject to their husbands in everything [respecting both their position as protector and their responsibility to God as head of the house]………Ephesians 5:24AMP”

Study the Word of God very carefully and you will observe that anytime God demanded answers, He came to the man and not the woman. The man was the one answerable to God on issues pertaining to the union, this is because he is the one God has made lord over the union.
It doesnt matter what people tell you as a woman, you are not right because you think so. Neither are you right because you cry. It’s about what God has said.

There are many people crying in hell, it doesn’t make them right. The man is the head of the woman, he is the lord of the home.

When the Lord said that the two shall be one, what He really said in aramaic is that when a man marries a woman, from that day they should see themselves as one and not individuals as it pertains to things of the flesh and natural.

It is wrong for any of the two to want his or her own way. It is wrong to say that I want my own money, my own interest and goals. To say that is a lack of wisdom, it means you never understood the marriage you entered. If you want your own this or that, you should have remained single.

You have to understand that marriage is not about the man or woman, not at all. It is about what God seeks to reveal and achieve with that ordinance of marriage that He instituted. God instituted marriage to reveal His plan concerning Christ and the Church. Any of the spouse that makes it difficult for this plan to be sustantiated in the marriage will one day give account to God. As long as husbands and wives see marriage to be about them, there will be a lot indiscipline in the union.

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church…….. Ephesians 5:31-32KJV”

When the central theme of any marriage is not about christ and the church but one or both spouses want his or her own way so to fulfil a certain pattern of the world, it becomes evil and foolish. It’s a great disregard to the ways of God. Jesus said, if you cannot go with the demands of marriage you shouldn’t marry. You don’t marry and then say that I want my own way.

“But He said unto them, “All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs who were so born from their mother’s womb, and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of
Heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it………Matthew 19:11-12KJV”

If you can go with the demands of marriage, marry. If you cant, don’t marry. “He that is able to receive it, let him receive it”

It’s important that Pastors and parents teach singles the true meaning and demands of marriage than the focus been placed on the ceremony. The Master admonished that you don’t go forth to build a house without first estimating the cost. You don’t set off to marry, without knowing the demands.

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you……Luke 14:28-29NIV”
