By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1 Corinthians 3:19 KJV For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. When the Bible talks about the wisdom of this world, He is referring to the wisdom of men. The wisdom of this world is the wisdom of men. There is the wisdom of men and there is the wisdom of God. The wisdom of men is heard through their communication, the same way the wisdom of God is heard through His Word. What is the wisdom of men? It is the skill they apply in the management of the affairs of life, their thoughts, reasonings, aphorisms and maxims. This is the wisdom of men. This is what God calls foolishness. It is foolishness because it doesn’t agree with God’s wisdom, His Word. You shouldn’t be impressed or boast in a reasoning or thought pattern just because it sounds nice to the ears. You have to ask, does it agree with what God has said? He says, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God……..Matthew 4:4KJV” Man is supposed to apply God’s wisdom, His Word in the management of the affairs of life. Wisdom is not that which sounds nice, wisdom is what God has said. It may not sound nice to your ears but if that is what God said then that is wisdom and what you are supposed to do. He says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding……. Proverbs 4:7KJV” Wisdom is that which is first in order, time and importance. It is the most valuable thing in life, far exceeding money “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it…….Ecclesiastes 7:12KJV” When the world has discourse on their television shows and media platforms, it doesn’t matter who is talking, it may be the president of the nation or a one they refer to as a professional or expert. You have to ask, does what he is saying agree with what God has said? With all their financial experts, the world is gradually submerging itself in a global financial crisis. Wisdom is not that which is taught at Harvard, true wisdom only comes from God. The Bible says, “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding……Proverbs 2:6KJV” We do ourselves good by going for what God has said. Every human being came to meet the earth, they are strangers in this world hence only the creator can teach us wisdom. He only can show the way. King David learned this wisdom earlier in his life so he said to God, “I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me……… Psalm 119:19KJV” Yes! We are strangers in this world: hide not your wisdom from us. “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word…….. Psalm 119:9KJV”. Glory to God! Therefore, don’t go for that which is foolish. Go for that which is superior, go for the wisdom of God. He says, “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body…..Proverbs 4:20-22NIV” God bless you!
