By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang Psalms 105:13-15KJV When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. You don’t touch that which is consecrated to God whether things or humans. You don’t touch that which is sanctified unto the Lord, you don’t touch what He has appointed or chosen unto Him. It’s a snare to do that. When you touch such things, you have touched God “Touch not the anointed” is not a preserved statement for only pastors and the fivefold ministers. This statement has been taken out of context and wrongly applied by many ministers. There are even pastors who use this to put fear in their flocks but when God made this statement, He didn’t only have prophets in mind but the whole Jewish nation. The Jews were at that time the seed of Abraham, God had chosen them over all other nations hence they were holy unto God. This is why anytime they themselves misbehaved, it came with consequences. When nations rose against them, God was obligated to fight on their behalf. These were His covenant people. As a nation, they had been anointed, they had been appointed and they had been chosen “He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” The problem with some Christians is that they dare not touch, slander or do evil to their pastors but have no problem oppressing other Christians. To them the pastors are anointed and the other Christians aren’t. The problem in Christianity is ignorance. As long as God is concerned all Christians are anointed and you dare not touch or oppress them too. Its important that as a Christian or pastor, you understand the meaning of what it means to be anointed. “To be anointed,” means to be picked, appointed, consecrated or chosen. All Christians are anointed John wrote to the Church and said, “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him…….1 John 2:27KJV” The “Anointing” who is the Holy Spirit dwells in every Christian hence every Christian is anointed. How can you have the anointing abiding in you and think yourself not to be anointed. If Christians were to understand that they are all anointed, they will act wisely and righteously and not only that but will be careful how they treat other believers. When the rich Christians in the church at Corinth were oppressing the poor among them, there were consequences. Why? They had touched the Lord’s anointed Paul told them, “That [careless and unworthy participation] is the reason why many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep [in death]…….1 Corinthians 11:30 AMP” These Christians partook of the communion whilst oppressing other Christians. They didn’t understand the spiritual sense of the communion. This is the problem among many Christians. They just do without understanding. They don’t understand what they do and what they say. If they understood the spiritual sense of the communion they wouldn’t have treated the poor Christians the way they did. Paul says, “The cup of blessing which we bless: is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread, which we break: is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, being many, are one bread and one body, for we are all partakers of that one Bread ……..1 Corinthians 10:16-17KJV” Yes! The Christians are the body of the anointing. Therefore, “Touch not the anointed, and do my prophets no harm” God bless you!
