By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang

2 Thessalonians 3:14KJV

And if any man obeys not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed

There are some Ministers and Christians who think that they understand love and grace more than Paul and even Jesus Himself. When you assume a position of trying to be “wiser” than God Himself, you will have yourself to blame.

The Word of God is the wisdom of God so when a Christian or Minister knows what God has said but tends to do it differently from what God had said, he or she is saying that she knows better than God. In other words, he is purporting to be wiser than God and that is pride and idolatry. The individual is making himself a god.

Many don’t really understand the principle behind idolatry. They think idolatry is only when an individual crafts a graven image of worship. No! stubborness too is idolatry. You make yourself a god by setting your own rules. There is idolatry in many churches. They have set their own rules, different from the stipulations of God’s Word. The Bible says

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, He hath also rejected thee from being king….1 samuel 15:23KJV”

Rejecting the Word of God is stubborness which is tantamount to idolatry. Therefore, becareful.

There are pastors who hide behind love and grace, allowing all kinds and forms of indiscipline in the Church.

For instance, two young Christians may be cohabiting and fornicating, the pastor and church leaders know about it but they turn a blind eye, in the name of grace. Man of God, do you understand grace more than the Apostle of grace himself who said,

And if any man obeys not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed”

Do you understand grace more than Paul who again said,

“But actually, I have written to you not to associate with any so-called [Christian] brother if he is sexually immoral or greedy, or is an idolater [devoted to anything that takes the place of God], or is a reviler [who insults or slanders or otherwise verbally abuses others], or is a drunkard or a swindler—you must not so much as eat with such a person…..1 Corinthians 5:11AMP”

Tell this to the Church, they will say Bro. Alex is not loving. Yet still it is in the Bible they claim to read everyday. Don’t try to be wiser than God, you don’t have an arm like Him.

It is wrong for a Christian to keep company and be socially intimate with any other Christian who doesn’t live inaccordance to God’s Word.

When you see a brother or sister in the Lord living waywardly, assume that he or she is ignorant and go to them in a spirit of humility and correct them with the Word of God. If after bringing the Word to their consciousness they still reject it, withdraw yourself from them. Don’t entertain them. Don’t count them as enemies. Be still praying for them but don’t entertain them. Let your posture show them that you don’t agree and are not happy with how they are living but do it guided by wisdom so to avoid strife. The motive for doing all this should be because you love them. There is what is called tough love. Tough love is taking certain hard decisions for the greater good and God exibits tough love too.

There was a Christian brother sleeping with his step mother at the church in Corinth. This was the judgement that Paul through the Holy Ghost passed. He said,

For I, though absent [from you] in body but present in spirit, have already passed judgment on him who has committed this [act], as if I were present. In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I am with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to hand over this man to Satan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus…..1 Corinthians 5: 3-5AMP”. This was tough love

Grace doesn’t mean living anyhow is accepted

God bless you!

Confession

I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah!  I am born again
