John 17:17KJV
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

What is truth? Truth is that which is true in any circumstance under consideration.

It’s either you are in truth or in error, there is no middle ground. When you find someone stubbornly disobeying God’s Word, he is in error. How can you allow yourself to be in error?

Error is darkness, it is evil and a defilement but to be in truth is to be in light.

When someone is stubbornly disobeying God’s Word even after much admonition and warning, you do yourself good to separate yourself from him or her. Separate yourself from him or her but be praying for that individual.

The Bible says,

“Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroyed much
good…… Ecclesiastes 9:8KJV”

When you are not in truth, you are in sin. Sin is spiritual, it soils and defiles. It is a spiritual refuse

James said,
“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins……..James 5:19-20KJV”

To err from truth is to change your spiritual location from life to death. Death means satan, it means he can come in to destroy and cause troubles.

Paul wrote to Timothy the Pastor and said,

“ In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will…2 Timothy 2:25-26KJV”

Paul says there are some people who work against themselves, they have chosen to abide in error and hence are in satan’s trap, taken captive by him as he pleases

These are stubborn individuals who will not regard God’s Word and have chosen to please themselves.
Truth is that which purifies, it cleanses one from the impurities of sins. Truth sanctifies.
Wisdom says,

“Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare him for his crying…….Proverbs 19:18KJV”
When we are harsh on people, it is not because we don’t love them. It is because we have seen what is coming if they don’t retrace their tracks.

I like the NIV translation of the verse, it says
“Discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death”

Why be a willing party to the destruction of a person? No! Let him know the error of His ways

Choose to walk in truth, choose to do what is right, and choose safety and not
destruction

God bless you!
