It will make God unrighteous to keep any good thing from you. This is why He will do any good thing for you. The Bible says, “Therefore to him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin….James 4:17KJV” If God knows how to do well and will not do that good thing for you, what does that make Him? This is why Jesus told the Jews, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” God knowing that His righteousness forbids Him from restraining to do good when required went ahead before anyone could ask to bless the Christian with all good things in Christ Jesus. If that thing you seek is a good thing, know that it has already been granted you in Christ Jesus. So Paul says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ,……Ephesians 1:3KJV” Again James says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning…..James 4:17KJV” This is why it is not “some” but “every” good gift that comes from God. This is because God has the means of doing all good things and hence for Him to have done some and not all, will have made Him unrighteous. He has to grant every good gift because “Therefore to him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin…. James 4:17KJV” That thing that you are seeking, is it a good thing?
