It brought life. You don’t have to be begging and crying to God for life. Death results from the lack of life. The deadness in a tissue, organ or cell results from the lack of life The Bible says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also…James 2:26KJV” When you got born again, you received the same life that God has, this life is called eternal life. Eternal life doesn’t mean living forever, it is God’s own life imparted to your spirit by the Holy Ghost. It is for this reason that Jesus came. He came so you receive eternal life. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly…..John 10:10KJV” And John said, “ And this is the record: that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son hath not life.These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God……1 John 5:11-13KJV” John here was writing to Christians so that they will know that they had eternal life. This suggests that you can be a Christian without being aware that you presently have eternal life. Isn’t this obvious? Don’t you find some pastors still preaching to their congregants that they are going to receive eternal life when they die or at the return of Jesus? These Pastors don’t know what eternal life is and that the Christian presently have. John says, “ I have written these things to you so you know that you have eternal life” Why did he want them to know? It is because the experience of the blessings of eternal life is not just in you having it but being aware that you have it. This is why a Pastor or Christian can die from Covid or any disease even though he has a life that would have destroyed that disease. It is because of eternal life that Jesus said, “They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover…..Mark 16:18KJV” It was because Paul knew and was aware that he had eternal life that a viper bite couldn’t kill him on the island of Malta. When you are fully conscious of having eternal life, nothing can make you fear. No doctor’s report will put fear in you. You have come to understand that greater is he that is in you is a fact. You have come to understand that you have something that the ordinary human being doesn’t have and this life is presently beaming in you . God bless you!
