1 Timothy 6:10KJV

For the love of money is the root of all evil; and while some have coveted after it, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

A very big problem in the church is faith misdirected. The cause of this has been a lack of purpose and focus. The mark of Christian maturity is the understanding that you exist for God and not that God exist for you.

For from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen…..Romans 11:36AMP”

NO! God doesn’t exist for us, we exist for Him. You exist for His purpose, His plan and what He wants to be achieved

There are many Christians including preachers who live with the mindset of God existing for them so they use faith and to say in quotes “God” to achieve their plans, vision and dreams.

Their prayer life is centered on financial prosperity and progress in life. They do progress, deceiving them to think that God is happy with their lives. They have been wrongly led and taught by covetous preachers into using material possessions as the yardstick for Godliness. “If God has been prospering me, He must be pleased with my way of life”, they seem to think.

Such a mindset is nothing new; it has been there before. There were Christians in Asia Minor who thought the same; lets observe what Jesus had to say to them

To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in Laodicea write: “These are the words of the Amen, the trusted and faithful and true Witness, the [Beginning and Origin of God’s creation: ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]. Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need],…….Revelation 3:14-17AMP”

Jesus told Christians with that mindset, “I will reject you with disgust”. Don’t let the preachers lie to you

Jesus has been always consistent. When He was on earth He said,

Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth…Luke 12:15KJV”. After He ascended into the high heavens, He came back with same message to the Christians in Asia Minor

The Christian is not supposed to be so much at home in this world. He should understand that his Lord, the one who owns him, has sent him into the world with a specific purpose, to save them and establish His righteousness in the hearts and affairs of men.

As long as God is concerned, this is the work and purpose for which He left every Christian on earth. On His return, this is what you are going to be assessed by. Did you do the work I gave you?

He is not going to ask , how much money is in the bank? Did you gain a PhD? Did you finish that law school? How much businesses and companies did you set up? He is not going to ask any of such questions. He is not interested in these things.

Yes! I miraculously gained you an opportunity into that law school, into that business etc. but how did my Kingdom and the assignment I gave you benefit from it?

Was the assignment what was most important or you made the career and business the priority and my work the secondary?

Be careful how you live your life, Child of God. Don’t be a slave of the systems of this world. They have been built and planned to deceive you

God bless you!

Confession

I believe with my heart that Jesus is the very Son of God that He came to die for me and was raised up by God the Father. I confess Him as the Lord of my life from this day forward. Hallelujah!  I am born again
