By Apostle Alex Adusei Agyemang 1 John 5:13 KJV I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life John wrote a letter to the church of his day for one purpose so that they may know and be aware that they have eternal life. They were not going to have; it wasn’t futuristic but a present day hour reality. It was a present hour verity, they had eternal life. Eternal life doesn’t mean longevity. The lack of the understanding of eternal life is what has made many live below the standard of what true Christianity is about. Eternal life doesn’t mean living or existing forever, eternal life is an organic life. Yes, it is an organic life. It is the life of a living being, it is the very life of God Himself. Eternal life is what Jesus came to give. It is the life and essence of deity. “The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly……. John 10:10KJV” It is a superfluous life. This life that you received when you became a Christian has made you a divine creature. When some Christians hear these kinds of words, they are offended but these same folks are waiting to one day receive a body they can fly by. Ok! So there is a day you will accept you becoming divine. Well! You better believe it now for you already are. This is what the new birth made you. Peter wrote to the church and said “Thereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust…..2 Peter 1:4KJV” Can you have a divine nature without being divine? Eternal life is a divine life and this is what you have as a Christian. It is because of your current connection to divinity that made Jesus say “They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover…..Mark 16:18KJV” You can only say this about the divine. Spiritual knowledge is sight and you get only what you can see. It’s a spiritual principle. Many Christians are not benefiting from their divine nature because they are not able to see. Their spiritual eyes are still shut but John wants to open those eyes, he says “I am writing these things to you so you know that you have eternal life”. You ought to be aware and conscious of this reality . God bless you!
